Generations at Oakton Pavillion proudly participated in the 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Northwest Suburban, IL, where the event collectively raised an impressive $116,988. Our facility alone contributed $2,581 to support the cause!
To rally our community, staff, residents, and friends, Oakton Pavillion spent an entire month hosting fundraisers nearly every other day. From irresistible bake sales to a delectable omelet bar, build-your-own taco stations, and pizza days, our team got creative in bringing people together for a common cause. Highlights included our Pie in the Face fundraiser—where participants could splatter a whipped cream pie on a staff member of their choosing—and our Water Dunk Challenge, where brave staff members took turns getting soaked with ice-cold buckets of water. Each event added excitement and fueled the spirit of giving, while our raffles kept everyone engaged with a chance to win fun prizes.
Raising this money was a collective effort that means more to us than numbers on a page. Alzheimer’s and other memory diseases have a profound impact not only on the residents we care for but also on their families and the wider community. Our staff members, many of whom have personal connections to loved ones affected by Alzheimer’s, walked in solidarity, united by a shared vision for a brighter future.
Together, we took strides toward a world without Alzheimer’s because we witness firsthand its effects on families and communities. We’re committed to continuing our support and advocating for research and resources that bring us closer to a cure. Until then, we will keep walking and working to ensure no family faces this journey alone.
