The Summer Series at Oakton Arms kicked off with one of our favorite entertainers – Dan the Drummer. Dan started the show with a big welcome to our residents, guests and staff. He also stated that everyone had a job to fulfill that day. Some were skeptical – job? But of course their job was – FUN! Dan wanted everyone to have as much fun as possible as well as to leave the event happy. He asked everyone to choose an instrument to participate in the fun.
There were various instruments to choose from including banjos, tambourines, ukuleles, djembe drums and more. As Dan the Drummer led the songs, various residents and guests were overjoyed as the songs reminded them of their childhood and other fond memories. They especially enjoyed the active call and response technique Dan used. As the event came to a close the participants cheered and clapped for Dan. He always amazes us with his abundance of energy and upbeat personality.
