On May 12, 2015 Generations at Oakton celebrated their Grand Reopening of the first floor at their Oakton Pavillion building. Guests enjoyed a variety of delicacies such as miniature beef tenderloin and grilled chicken sandwiches, Vietnamese summer rolls, soy sake shrimp, and a variety of salads and grilled vegetables. The desserts were plenty with homemade Twinkies, cookies, caramel chocolate mousse parfaits and the specially created Oakton Smores on a stick.
Guests, healthcare professionals and friends were invited to tour the newly renovated first floor. Many also took a short stroll or golf cart ride to Oakton Arms the independent living facility to experience firsthand how Generations at Oakton is the premier choice for rehabilitation and independent living.
The tour of the 1st floor at Oakton Pavillion showcased the new large private suites with private showers. Guests toured the many new renovated areas. The new dining room designed to promote socialization and where restaurant style meals will be served. The sports bar, internet cafe and patio are all open and inviting spaces where families and residents will visit and enjoy watching local sports games or other entertainment on three large flat screen televisions. Sweets and treats, many reminiscent of days gone by are available in the Country Store that is open 7 days a week from 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. Lastly the tour showcased a new admissions lounge designed for privacy, comfort, decision making and planning only to be followed by a preview of the facility’s state of the art therapy center.
After taking a quick golf cart ride to Oakton Arms; guests were shown model floor plans of the 91 studios and 7 one bedroom apartments that are offered. Oakton Arms have the ability to convert 2 studios into one bedroom apartments with residents’ request. At Oakton Arms our seniors are provided with lunch and dinner daily, all utilities are included except for telephone service, free wifi, free cable TV, housekeeping and laundry once a week, a free storage unit and free parking. Other amenities at Oakton Arms include a community room, library, beauty shop, bistro and dining room.
Guests of the Grand Reopening included medical director Dr. Beatrisa Paz-Averbuch, cardiologist Dr. C. Dean Katsamakis, Dr. Chool Lyiapadabendi, Dr. Lisa Laurent, the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce, Aldermen Dick Sadat, David & Renee Kozin, friends and healthcare professionals.
Bryan G. Barrish a principal of Generations Healthcare Network remarked- “It is a joyous occasion especially for the many of us that have been personally involved in the planning of this exciting project in the last year. Our new rehabilitation unit addresses the changing environment of rehabilitation in a skilled nursing setting.” He continued, “I want to extend our thanks to the community for your continued support. Ultimately, this project is for you and those we care for. It is our pleasure to have a facility where community members can recover and receive the best care in the most updated state of the art environment.”
